Whilst the Wee Seeds Family is big — and growing everyday — the Wee Seeds team is much smaller. Volunteers Sydney and Zoë have been helping out across lots of different areas to bring Wee Seeds to its launch.

Sydney and Zoë first met Wee Seeds’ Founder, Christina, in October 2018 when Wee Seeds collaborated with the student-led consultancy, FreshSight Ltd., where they both served on the Management Team. The FreshSight team affirmed the gap in the digital meditation and mindfulness market for the Wee Seeds toolbox. Sydney and Zoë were really compelled by the Wee Seeds mission so decided to keep in touch.

In May 2019, following their university exams, the girls joined the team!

Zoë is working in the Operations and Partnerships departments. She is currently running the Trailblazers programme with nurseries across the UK who are testing out the exercises. Sydney is leading the Marketing and Communications segments of Wee Seeds, ensuring that the core vision and mission of Wee Seeds is widely promoted to our audience on a number of different platforms.

Zoë has just completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh, studying English Language and Literature. After finishing university, she was looking for a new organisation to get involved with. Zoë was attracted to Wee Seeds after studying language acquisition as part of a university module, learning just how clever children aged 0–5 are and quite what they are capable of learning. She is excited to see the results of training preschoolers with these mindfulness and meditation tools such that they become like a second language; a natural reflex for registering calmness and overcoming hardship.

Sydney is currently studying her undergraduate degree in Business with Enterprise and Innovation at the University of Edinburgh Business School. She has a strong interest in social business and startup, and is a strong advocate of mindfulness and meditation in everyday life. During her time at FreshSight, Sydney was blown away by the work done by Christina and was keen to learn more about Wee Seeds’ unique social mission. She is inspired by the way that mindfulness has impacted the lives of many individuals, and through her experience working in child care recognises the need and immense benefits of introducing healthy practices at young ages.

They said, “We love being a part of Wee Seeds! We are so proud to contribute to such an innovative idea which will impart such an impact on parents, professionals and the pre-schoolers they care for. We believe that Wee Seeds has the power to influence a generation of growing minds and we’re honoured to be working alongside such a hardworking and driven team!”
